Conservatorships

What happens when nothing was signed in advance, and how to keep it from being needed.

A conservatorship is a court appointment of someone to make decisions for an adult who can no longer make their own. It is the fallback where no power of attorney exists, and it is a proceeding rather than a document.

Where it is genuinely needed we will say so and refer it to counsel who do that work. More often the better answer is the documents that make it unnecessary.
